Thomas Cohn is a Partner in the New York office of LeClairRyan. He advises clients on legal and practical aspects of compliance with FTC and other federal/state consumer regulations and industry self-regulation, and represents clients in government investigations and actions. His clients include online/offline advertisers and marketers, affiliates and networks.  

He served 17 years at FTC, as Northeast Regional Director, Counsel to the Director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection, and attorney in the Division of Marketing Practices.

 As Regional Director, he supervised staff and led multi-agency enforcement efforts against anticompetitive, unfair and deceptive practices.  He also led regional media and outreach efforts to educate consumers, businesses, and law enforcement about how to spot, stop and avoid fraud and comply with all laws enforced by FTC.  

He is a graduate of Yale College and Boston University School of Law and is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.
