Robert (“Rob”) Pineda is Senior Counsel in the Johnson & Johnson Law Department.  He is a member of

the department’s Regulatory Law Group and in particular provides regulatory legal support to McNeil Consumer Healthcare (“McNeil”) of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies.  In that role, he has counseled many of McNeil’s marketing brands in the areas of advertising and promotion, including social media and digital strategy initiatives.  Mr.  Pineda has been employed by Johnson & Johnson since March 2011.

Prior to employment at Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Pineda served approximately nine years as a regulatory lawyer for Merck & Co., Inc. (“Merck”), providing FDA regulatory, litigation, labeling, and clinical research support for various Merck pharmaceutical products and vaccines.   Mr. Pineda also worked extensively on advising on Merck’s social media initiatives, as well as in the development of the company’s social media policies.  

Prior to joining Merck, Mr. Pineda spent several years in private practice in the litigation department of the firm Dechert LLP in Philadelphia, PA.  His primary experience there was representing pharmaceutical companies in mass tort and product liability litigation. 

Mr. Pineda is a 1993 graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and a 1990 graduate of Georgetown University.
